Date

The letter is written from Ephesus in the spring (before Pentecost, 16:8–9). If we accept the chronology of Acts (see below), Paul founded the church in Corinth in 50–1 CE (Acts 18:1–7) and was in Ephesus two or three years later (Acts 19:1–10); thus the date of composition of this letter is some time in the period 52–5 CE.
